Meet The Photographer

Hello! My name is Kari and I am a photographer based in Nashville, TN. You might notice that the photography on this website has a rather diverse subject matter - as I like to say, "The world and its life forms are too fascinating to pick just one thing!" I love technology, and I consider the work I do in Camera Raw and Photoshop to be just as much of the artistic process, and just as much fun, as taking the pictures themselves. Even though my photographic interests and the post-processing techniques I use are varied and ever evolving, I aim to create pictures that have a common thread: soulful yet exciting, simplified, balanced, and moving. I have been told that I have a knack for capturing the personalities and essence of the people and animals that I occasionally photograph for private clients. And I love sharing my knowledge with others just as others have done and continue to do for me. I teach by supporting and guiding rather than by telling. After all, everyone has a unique voice, and I believe a teacher's role is to help students hone and become confident in their own creative style and abilities as artists.
