*Note: There are a lot of files in this kit to cover all the aspect ratio, orientation, and matting width combinations. A.The matting in the Matting Expansion Pack includes wider matting options (up to 8" wide.) This is something that isn't easily accomplished with the 3" matting already included in our frame mockup kits (you can go narrower but not wider.)

A.Yes! You can customize both the single- and double-mat color, texture, and width. We have included a "bonus" Photoshop software swatches file (.aco) to help you quickly select popular matting color options. You can also create your own custom matting color, or sample a color for your matting from your artwork.

A.If you have a basic knowledge of the Photoshop software interface and using layers, you should have no trouble creating basic mockups with this mockup kit. If you want to move your matted artwork into a frame mockup file, doing so requires a more intermediate understanding of the Photoshop software, as does employing some of the more intricate mockup customizations. However, all of our Digital Creative Tools include a very detailed user guide (written by a professional technical writer), which we think doubles as a Photoshop software tutorial! We believe you will learn a lot about the Photoshop software and be able to create more advanced mockups simply by following the steps in the user guide. We are happy to answer basic questions via email, and we also provide 1:1 post-processing coaching if you would like to take your Photoshop software skills to the next level. A.Yes! You can hide the double mat with a single click.

A.There is no need for transparency with the files in this mockup kit. The matting in every file covers the entire canvas, so you can place your final mockups on any color page.

A.When we work with these templates, we place all of the layers in the matting mockup file into our frame mockup file. We find working this way makes for easier customization, as opposed to having to jump back and forth between two files and/or re-export matted artwork each time a change is made to the matting mockup. To make this workflow easier, we decided to create separate files for each matting aspect ratio (1:1, 2:3, 4:5), orientation (landscape and portrait), and width (1"-8" plus 1.5"). So the number files in the kit really added up.

A.A single-seat license means that when you purchase a Digital Creative Tools product you and only you, as the original purchaser, have our permission to use the product. Our single-seat license also allows for one (1) install on each different type of device that you own (e.g. Desktop, iPhone, and iPad), but you many not share the product files with anyone else. Each person and/or employee in a company must purchase their own copy of our Digital Creative Tools products. A.This mockup kit includes nested layer groups, so Photoshop CC+ is recommended. You may be able to open and work with our files if you own a copy of Photoshop CS6+ and if you have successfully worked with nested layer groups before. However, we don't feel comfortable making that guarantee.

A.Yes, you can. You may have to make adjustments here and there depending on the size and aspect ratios of your frame mockups. But we include instructions in our user guide for the way we recommend making our matting templates work with your own Photoshop software frame mockup files.

A.Yes, that is the beauty of templates that use Smart Objects to place artwork, which ours do! For instance, all of the artwork you see in our product slides was in the sRGB color space when we placed it in these templates. Even if you are a beginner, the detailed user guide (included) will walk you through the steps of properly placing your artwork in a template and exporting your finished work.
